Terra Industries, Nigeria’s premier high-tech defence firm, welcomed 61 senior officers from the Army War College of Nigeria (AWCN) at their industrial facility in IDU, Abuja.
The delegation from Nigeria’s apex defence outfit was led by Brigadier General MC Akin Ojo, alongside Brigadier Generals, Colonels, and Lieutenant Colonels currently participating in the War College’s Study Tour.
The officers gained firsthand experience with the military hardware developed by Terra Industries, including live demonstrations of its unmanned aerial and ground systems. The delegation also engaged directly with Terra engineers, asking important questions and holding insightful conversations on how both entities can collaborate to improve Nigeria’s defence Status and promote independence.
” We will continue to accelerate our goal to give Africa the technological edge needed to counter terrorism and bring lasting peace.” Nathan Nwachukwu, Terra Industry’s Co-Founder, said in response to the visit.
Terra Industries hopes to promote independent defence manufacturing in Africa, and it is starting with its home country, Nigeria. The goal is to help African countries wean themselves off their dependence on Western Countries for military hardware and Intelligence.
The Abuja-based startup has raised a total of $33.8 million in funding. The company achieved this total through two rapid-fire seed rounds within the first two months of 2026.
The company emerged from stealth with an $11.75 million raise led by 8VC, founded by Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale. A month later, they secured an additional $22 million extension led by Lux Capital.
Nathan Nwachukwu believes Tech in Africa can be used to address more pressing needs, like defence and Agriculture, not just payments.
