Ultimum Limited, a key player in Nigeria’s private sector, is set to unveil its manufacturing hub in Aba, months after approaching the Abia state government on the project.
The company last year announced the completion of its beverage factory in Osisioma, Aba, last year approaching Abia’s governor, Otti, on the occasion. The FMCG company appealed to the government for support after the announcement, securing promises from the Otti adminstration.
In the meeting, Otti disclosed that he has directed the commissioner of works to begin work on the road leading to the factory for easy transportation of finished products to the market.
Ultimum Limited has now completed its manufacturing hub in the state and is set to unveil the facility on Wednesday. The new manufacturing facility adds to an already bustling manufacturing sector in Abia state.
The manufacturing facility is situated at the Osisioma Industrial Cluster, one of the industrial clusters in the state. Abia as a whole is known for its manufacturing capacity. Special focus includes textiles, leather works, shoes, and household goods. Other fringe areas include Automobile parts, upholstery, wines, and spirits, etc.
Manufacturing in the state received a boost following the activation of the Geometric Power Plant in Aba after 20 years. The power project is providing 24-hour light to nine local governments in the state. They include some key manufacturing hubs in the state as well as residential areas.
Ultimum Limited joins other private enterprises making a comeback in the state gradually. The Otti adminstration has supported the business sector with refurbished and new road infrastructure, easing logistics.
At the recent Abia Business Roundtable, Otti reiterated that the state is open for business, inviting local and foreign investors.
