Anambra state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, presented official certification of recognition to four Anambra monarchs in the state at the Lighthouse Event Centre, Awka. yesterday.
The four Anambra monarchs recognised include Igwe Chinonso Ezeokafor of Ikenga, HRM Engr. Sir Augustine Chinedum Emelobe, Ezeokpoko II of Oba, Igwe Sunday Emmanuel Udoji Ozoemena of Ifite Anam, and Igwe Ifeanyi Okonkwo of Ichi.
The governor tasked them with ethical leadership and seeing beyond the ceremonial perks of their offices. He charged them to be a moral compass to their respective societies and to uphold the constitutions of their towns.
Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering unity, peace, and development. Work closely with your people and ensure that our core values are passed on to the next generation,” Soludo said.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, hailed the transparent process that led to the recognition of the monarchs in the state, tasking them on genuine leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the monarch, Igwe Ozoemena of Ifite Anam hailed the governor on his efforts in the state and for reforming the State traditional council.
Key members of the Anambra State Executive Council, traditional rulers, including the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, attended the colourful event.
