PremiumTrust Bank, a commercial bank in Nigeria, has opened an outlet in Owerri, expanding its physical footprint in Nigeria’s Southeast region.
The commercial bank officially opened its new branch in Imo State at 105 Wetheral Road, Ikenegbu Layout, Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State, with a brief flag-off ceremony graced by the state’s governor.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, officially flagged off the office, welcoming the bank to the state and urging it to contribute to the Growth of the state’s local economy.
PremiumTrust reacted to the development, describing the new branch opening as a promise kept.
“Today, we are proud to announce the opening of our branch. This branch represents another promise kept: our promise to stay closer, serve better, and create more opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to grow with confidence,” the bank shared on X.
“We cannot wait to welcome you to our newest branch and show you what premium banking feels like. Together for Growth,” it added.
PremiumTrust Bank joins Nova Bank and Access Bank in opening a branch in Owerri within the last year as the state’s corporate profile continues to grow.
Owerri is home to over seven major tertiary institutions, constituting a sizeable number of young people in the state. This makes for a viable market for banks, as students are likely to open and run several bank accounts.
Besides the student community, Owerri is home to a thriving oil and gas community with seven major ones operating in the state. The state’s governor has called for Oil companies operating in the state to open physical outlets in the state and contribute to the Growth of the state’s local economy.
Imo State, the Heartland State, enjoys a strategic geographic advantage as it is centrally located with access to Abia State, Anambra State, and Enugu State in less than 3 hours. It makes a great choice for a regional headquarters for corporate bodies looking to expand into the eastern region.
