The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Dr George Moghalu, has stated that elderly Anambra citizens above 70 years would earn stipends in his administration if he is successfully elected by November.
Moghalu disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Atani, HRH Igwe Augustine Azuka Ngoddy. The Labour Party candidate was accompanied by Rt. Hon. Afam Ogene and his Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro, for the courtesy visit, and seized the opportunity to preach the gospel of the recovery agenda to the Atani community.
Speaking during the event, Moghalu also added that Anambra citizens aged 65 years and above would use public hospitals in the state for free, in addition to the stipends for elders aged 70 years and above.
Moghalu explained that the initiatives mentioned above are tenets of his people-centred administration he plans to run if elected.

The Labour Party man also discussed the issue of security, outlining the strategy he hopes to implement if elected, reversing the trend in the state, and attracting Foreign Direct Investment.
The campaign strategy of the Labour Party man is heavily hinged to grassroots engagement, hence the consistent visits to communities in Anambra. In the past month, Moghalu has been to Nawfija, Umunze, Nimo, Agulu, and addressed Nnewi indigenes living in Onitsha.
His campaign slogan, ” Anambra ga adimma ozo,” speaks to the possibility of a new Anambra away from its current woes and travails.
