The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has alerted the general public to a planned two-day power outage across Anambra and Enugu States, scheduled to take place from Sunday, August 31, 2025, to Monday, September 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
The EEDC made this announcement in a public statement through Emeka Ezeh, Group Head, Corporate Communications at EEDC. The public statement revealed the details of the power outage, including the days and the time duration as mentioned above.
Ezeh maintained that the power outage was necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance crew to replace the faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kv switch yard in Awada.
“Consequently, electricity supply to customers in the affected areas will be interrupted during the maintenance period,” Ezeh said.
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appeal for our customers’ understanding, as the exercise is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of service,” He added.
