The Executive Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Oforbuike, has pointed out that Anambra’s Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s diversified approach to Security is a game-changer and is arguably his biggest achievement since assuming office.
Speaking at the state-owned New Media podcast, Voice of Anambra (VONA). Oforbuike stated that Soludo’s diversified approach to security was a masterstroke which has proved very effective in the long run. He added that sectors such as security policy should not be centralised solely in the capital but should adopt a diversified approach that involves all stakeholders.
” Security issues should not be concentrated only in the capital or a particular part of the state. Mr Governor was also intentional in getting all the relevant stakeholders on board to drive his security agenda,” said Oforbuike.
The Aguata chairman also believes that mayors in the state played key roles in the state’s refurbished security architecture. He revealed that the mayors were assigned tasks, which they all fulfilled, contributing to Anambra’s new security status.
Generally speaking, Oforbuike rates the Soludo administration highly, testifying that the state is currently working at an optimal level.
” We are all witnesses to the fact that Anambra State is working. Our students are going to school. Schools are being renovated, and salaries are being paid,” Oforbuike stated.
Prior to his appointment as Anambra State chairman, Chibueze Oforbuike served as a lecturer in political science at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. He is regarded as one of the youngest officeholders in the state, with his policies leaning heavily on educational reforms within his local government.
In 2023, Oforbuike was named the “Digital Local Government Chairman of the Year” by the Presidency’s Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
What We Think
- VONA is largely perceived as a pro-Anambra Government Media outlet and is prone to favourable coverage of the current administration.
- The Platform is heavily patronised by Anambra government officials or fans of the current regime, singing the praises of their principals.
- However, Security has seriously improved in Anambra, courtesy of a synergy between state-backed vigilante groups and official Nigerian security outfits.
