Abia Techrise Cohort 3 Begins Application

The Abia state-backed Tech initiative, Abia Techrise Cohort 3, is currently accepting applications as the third phase of the initiative kicks off.

The Abia TechRise is an elite, fully residential advanced digital skills programme for Abia youth. The initiative aligns with Dr. Alex Otti’s agenda for youths in the state and is the second major youth-focused program after the sucessful Abia Leadership Academy.

Describing the Abia Techrise Cohort 3, the Chief Press Secretary to the Abia state Governor, Ukoha Njoku, stated that the programme serves as a gateway for young people into civil service, tech employment, and global opportunities.

Revisiting Abia Techrise Cohort 2

The Abia State’s Techrise Cohort 2 was a three-month program that trained participants in the following sectors.

• Data Engineering – Digital Arts and Animation
• Mobile App Development with JavaScript

The Techrise initiative follows the Abia Leadership Program by the state government, aimed at bringing the state’s youth up to speed on global tech skills and preparing them for the job market.

Abia state is fast becoming a hub for tech initiatives and youth-powered programs, complementing the manufacturing and commercial sector dominant in the state.
