Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodimma, launched a three-day retreat themed Public Sector Governance for Officials of Local Government in Imo State. with emphasis on Enhancing Local Government Sustainable Development.
Uzodimma, during his speech, reminded LGA officials that public office was a noble calling that demanded accountability, passion for service, and responsibility to the people being served through the office.
He urged LGA chairmen to hold regular meetings with shareholders within their domain to promote inclusivity, Shared responsibility, and Unity. He also advised councilors to work with leaders in their wards on the needs and challenges of their communities, collaborating with traditional rulers and President Generals.
The retreat was organized with resource personnel from the Progressive Institute, a brainchild of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC). The retreat aims to equip LGA officials with the best approach for implementing the APC’s developmental agenda
Uzodimma on Monday received a delegation of Seplat Energy Plc’s leadership, led by Chairman Senator Udoma Udo Udoma and CEO Roger Brown at the Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The Courtesy visit aims to strengthen ties with the Imo state government and advance the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, a joint venture with NNPC Ltd located at Ohaji/Egbema region of the state.
During the courtesy visit, both parties discussed sustainable development, local content, and economic growth through infrastructure and community initiatives. Uzodimma praised Seplat’s contributions, urging the energy company to employ more local talent in the state.
Seplat Energy, at the meeting, reaffirmed its commitment to operate efficiently and uphold environmental standards while pursuing a strategic partnership that helps the industrialization of the state.
