Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma, has inspected new projects in the state after the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu days ago.
Uzodimma inspected the ongoing construction work at the Ultra-Modern Bus Terminal on Onitsha Road, the Imo Recreation Park, the headquarters of the Imo Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), and the Imo Drug Warehouse.
The governor announced that his personal observations of the projects will inform further strategic interventions on the projects going forward.
” Today, I carried out an inspection of ongoing projects across Owerri, assessing the progress of key infrastructure developments to ensure alignment with our urban renewal scheme,” Uzodimma announced on X
The southeastern state has been making giant strides in capital projects and recently hosted the president, who came to commission the following projects.
- The 52-kilometer Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia dual carriageway federal road, enhancing connectivity across Imo and Abia States.
- The Assumpta-Control Post Twin Flyover (also known as Assumpta Cathedral Catholic Church Twin Flyover), a one-lane structure easing traffic in Owerri.
- The rebuilt Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC) in Owerri, a state-of-the-art facility with a 6,000-seat capacity.
Besides the above projects, the president also visited and inspected the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel and the Digital Learning Centre. He also unveiled Uzodimma’s book, A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.
