Governor Hope Uzodimma has presented Imo State as a growing destination for local and foreign investors, saying the state is creating opportunities through partnerships between the government and private businesses.
In a statement, Uzodimma described Imo as a place where investment meets opportunity. He said the state’s economic strategy is built on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and leverages the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the governor, the approach has helped position Imo State as an attractive investment destination across various sectors of the economy.
Uzodimma said the state is working towards a $1 trillion economic masterplan aimed at turning Imo into a major industrial centre for both national and international businesses.
He pointed to key projects such as the Orashi Special Energy Free Trade Zone and the Imo Industrial and Innovation Park (IIIP), noting that the initiatives have continued to draw interest from global investors and institutions.
The governor also revealed that the African Export-Import Bank’s African Quality Assurance Center (AQAC), a multi-million-dollar conformity assessment facility, is located in Imo State and forms part of efforts to boost industrial development.
Uzodimma further stated that the Imo State Industrial Policy, developed with technical support from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), provides a clear plan for industrial growth and investment expansion.
He added that the policy is helping to transform the state into a leading investment and industrial destination by creating an environment that protects investments, encourages business growth, and offers returns for investors.
The governor maintained that Imo State remains open to investors seeking opportunities across various sectors of the economy and expressed confidence that the state’s development plans will continue to attract more partnerships and investment.
