Foot traffic has peaked at the Solution Fun City in Awka following yuletide celebrations as Awka residents open themselves up to leisure like never before.
The leisure and recreational centre put in place by the Soludo administration is proving to be a game-changer in a city facing a massive facelift and attracting foreign bodies.
Situated along the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway at the Awka Township Stadium, the flagship capital project by the Soludo Administration gulped N2.43 billion. The amount reflects the total cost for the installation and Supply of its core equipment.
Several companies handled the construction of the project, split into different lots for greater efficiency and execution.
GSS Real Estate and Construction, led by Architect Chukwudi Ezenwa, handled the overall construction of the facility, including the country club and sports courts.
Parkvega Waterpark Limited handled the supply and installation of the Outdoor Amusement and Waterpark equipment, a N1.91 billion contract.
Finally, JCN & Bros Commercial Enterprises handled the supply and installation of the indoor Arcade Games and Bowling Equipment for N520 million.
Speaking at the inauguration, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, explained that the motive behind building the complex was to encourage leisure and relaxation. The Solution Fun City doubles as a leisure centre and an event centre for highbrow music concerts.
Music Concerts Held at Solution Fun City
The Solution Fun City was inaugurated with a music concert by popular Highlife musician Flavour. Since then, the facility has hosted major music concerts attracting thousands.
Other artists to perform at the arena include Jennifer Eliogu and a host of other indigenous artists from eastern Nigeria.
