The results of the Southeast Maths Olympiad Competition, announced by the competition’s convener, Alex Onyia, highlight two perfect scores and high turnout across the five southeastern states.
Onyia shared the results in a presentation on X, confirming that 11,522 students participated in the competition. Imo and Anambra states had the highest number of participants, fielding 3,895 and 2,434 students respectively. Abia State had the fewest number of participants, fielding only 977 students for the competition.
A total of 7096 male students sat for the competition, while 4426 female students participated, alongside 30 teachers who supervised the Southeast Maths Olympiad competition.
The maths quiz was divided into the Senior, Junior, and Primary categories, representing three distinct classifications of attendees. The Senior category featured students in SS1 to SS3, while the Junior category featured students in JSS1 to JSS3. The last category, the primary category, featured students from Primary 1 to Primary 5.

Southeast Maths Olympiad Results in each state
After the February 28th maths Olympiad examination, the competition conveners selected the top three candidates in each category from each state based on their performance.
These finalists will slug it out for the final prize on March 7th in a live broadcast by Afia Tv. The top three winners, according to the Category and states, include:

The grand finale of the competition will be held on March 7th in Enugu to select the winners of the three categories. The Southeast Maths Olympiad is funded by donations to the Intervention for South East Education (1SEE). Terra Co founder, Nathan Nwachukwu, remains the highest donor to the initiative.
