The Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representative, Hon Benjamin Kalu has congratulated Anambra’s governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his succesful reelection stating that his election victory represents the collective will and confidence of Ndi Anambra.
Kalu who described the elections as peaceful and credible stated that the smooth elections is an indicator of the strength of Nigerian democracy and Ndi Anambra’s confidence in Soludo’s leadership.
” With this renewed mandate, I am hopeful that the people of Anambra will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy, good governance, and visionary leadership.” Kalu stated.
The Deputy Speaker wished soludo continued wisdom, strength, and success as he continues to lead the State to greater heights.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo was declared winner of the Anambra Gubernatorial elections in the early hours of Sunday yesterday polling 422,664 votes. The APGA candidate finished first in the polls with a margin of over 300,000 votes cementing APGA’s dominance in Anambra’s politics.
Soludo won all 21 local governments in the state, the second APGA candidate to do this since his benefactor Chief Willie Obiano. He also secured the recommended percentage of vote spread securing 21% of votes in all 21 local governments in the state.
Giving his victory speech, Soludo called on all candidates to come together and work towards a prosperous Anambra. He stated that the work of governorship continues immediately after his victory and he never truly stopped governing even during the campaign period.
In a surprising turn of events, the Labour party candidate Dr George Moghalu has rejected the results of the Anambra Gubernatorial elections announced by INEC. Moghalu cited rampant vote buying as his reason for contention opting to initiate a judicial process.
Political spectators expect Governor Soludo to decamp to the National ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) after his reelection as he sets his eyes on higher political positions in the country.
