The Solution Innovation District (SID), a flagship structure of Soludo’s administration’s technological initiative, is nearing completion and is currently at the roofing stage.
The structure located in Awka is set to be the district’s first iconic structure when completed, and doubles as a beacon of government presence in the area. The SID is a government-backed ecosystem serving as a home for a vibrant community of innovators, technologists, social entrepreneurs, startups, investors, and artisans building products in the state and competing in the global tech space.
The SID initiative powers the “1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe” program, offering free digital skills training in cybersecurity, machine learning, blockchain, digital marketing, web design, and graphic design.
The project empowers youth and prepares them for the global job market, bridging the unemployment gap while building a tribe of tech founders and builders in the state. Additional use cases include provision of incubation, mentorship, co-working spaces, and investment support for over 16 startups in the area.
Led by Chinwe Okoli, SID interacts with society by engaging traditional rulers and SMEs, promoting entrepreneurial scaling and innovation awareness. The project facilitated SMFes 2025 in Beijing and spotlighted startups like CloudAudit, a homegrown venture.
The SID initiative spells Anambra’s continued pivot towards Technology and innovation, evident in new startups and tech events springing up in the state. Tech incubation hubs like Anambra Techies, which organised last month’s Anambra Web 3 conference, continue to drive the growth of the Industry in the state.
The SID adds to other capital projects by the Soludo Administration, touching new sectors like leisure and entertainment, and now Tech. Other capital projects in the usual areas of road infrastructure, education, and healthcare are also ongoing.
Soludo’s administration has fully resumed governance after securing a second tenure in the just-concluded November 8th Gubernatorial elections, winning all 21 local governments in the state.
