The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to visit Abia State on Friday, 3rd October 2025, to commission strategic roads completed by the Alex Otti administration.
President Tinubu, who is currently in Imo state, will stop over at Aba to carry out the commissioning process. The presence of the president in Abia state marks a historic endorsement of the giant strides made by the state since Alex Otti took over as governor.
The completed roads to be commissioned by the president when he arrives include
- Port Harcourt Road (Dual Carriage Road of 3 lanes each with drainage)
- Ohanku Road
- Ndoki Road
- Ajiwe Street
- Umuatako Road
- Chief Nkoro Street and Spurs, Abayi, Aba
- Gabriel Nwosu Street
The prospective visit marks a new chapter in the partnership between the Abia state government and the Federal government, setting politics aside and focusing on the tangible deliverables of leadership.
The newly completed roads are all equipped with installed solar flood lights, a trademark of Abia State road infrastructure under Alex Otti.
The President would receive a grand civic reception at the Aba Township hall stadium by 10:AM. Prince Okey Kanu, the Abia state commissioner for Information, reacted to the planned visit of the president through a signed statement welcoming him to the state.
” On behalf of the Government and people of Abia State, we warmly welcome His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and express our profound appreciation to him for honouring Abia State with his presence. We hereby call on all Abians, including the Aba business Community, Town Unions, Youths, and Women’s groups, to come out en masse to accord Mr. President a befitting reception.” Kanu said.
