Opay Swift and USSD Codes are codes used by Opay users for international banking and offline banking, respectively. Both codes mean different things and are often confused. These tools diversify Opay banking, allowing Opay users to make transactions without a smartphone or to send money internationally without hassle.

Remember that Opay is a fully digital bank, so it has SWIFT and USSD codes, like other commercial banks in Nigeria. Opay’s SWIFT and USSD codes are named below.

It is important to note that the OPAY SWIFT code is not for the local Nigerian OPAY account, but rather for the Opay Holding Limited in the United Kingdom

What is the OPay USSD Code?

The Opay USSD code is a tool for offline banking, allowing users to conduct transactions without internet access. This tool is widely used by low-income Nigerians who can’t afford smartphones. It allows you to perform transactions without using the OPay app or an internet connection.

  • Main Code: *955#
  • Common Shortcuts:
    • Check Balance: *955*0#
    • Transfer to OPay/Other Banks: *955*3#
    • Buy Airtime: *955*3*Amount#
    • Block Account (Emergency): *955*131#

Does OPay have a Swift Code?

The SWIFT Code (also known as a BIC) is an international identifier used to send or receive money between banks in different countries. Most commercial Banks in Nigeria have SWIFT codes, but fintech banks like OPay, Palmpay, and Moniepoint do not.

So the answer is NO. Opay does not have a SWIFT code for direct international transfers, but rather operates under a Microfinance Bank (MFB) license

The “OPay” Swift Code: You might see the code OPAHGB22 online; however, this belongs to OPay Holding Limited in the United Kingdom, not the Nigerian local bank account.

Since you cannot use a SWIFT code for a local OPay Nigeria account, you should use the in-app “International Transfer” feature or third-party services like Sendwave, Remitly, or Western Union, selecting “OPay” as the destination bank.
