The Ebonyi state Governor, Barrister Francis Nwifuru, held an expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the North, South and Central zones in the state.
Ebonyi State is the second state in the Southeast to become an APC state. This follows the defection of its former Governor, Engr. David Umahi, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC. Nwifuru looks to consolidate the party in the state through effective politicking across regions.
” Yesterday, I had the honour of convening expanded stakeholders’ meetings of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), across the North, South, and Central zones of Ebonyi State.” Nwifuru shared on X
” These engagements were deliberate and necessary, aimed at strengthening unity within our party and ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and objective process for nominating candidates for various elective positions. I am pleased to note that the meetings were fruitful, leading to the emergence of consensus candidates in some areas, while deliberations on others have been responsibly deferred to allow for further consultations.”
” This approach underscores our collective commitment to internal democracy. We remain resolute in ensuring that the voices of our people are heard and reflected in the choices we make, rather than imposing candidates. Our goal is to present individuals who truly represent the aspirations and interests of the good people of Ebonyi State.” He added.
Nwifuru commended all stakeholders for their participation, maturity and cooperation towards the growth of the APC in the state.
‘Together we will continue to build a stronger APC and a more prosperous Ebonyi State,” He concluded.
Lack of government activity marks the Nwifuru administration. This could stem from poor accountability among Ndi Ebonyi toward their leaders. It could also mean poor communication from the governor’s team about his projects in the state.
Nwifuru is in the mix of southeast politicians interested in the Vice-Presidential slot in 2031. All the prospects are gravitating towards the APC as the vehicle of choice for their ambition.
