The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, George Moghalu, stormed the palace of the Igwe Oka Ije of Okija as part of his strategy to engage rural communities and drive grassroots support.
Moghalu visited HRH Igwe Emeka Okezie, the Igwe Oka Ije of Okija, to receive royal blessings and extend his recovery agenda to the Okija community.
Speaking at the event, Moghalu described traditional rulers as custodians of culture, Heritage, and moral authority whose blessings and guidance remain invaluable in the quest for good governance.
He reiterated that his visit to the palace was not only to seek prayers and counsel from the royal father, but also to reaffirm his commitment to his manifesto, which aims to leave no community behind in the state.

In his response, Igwe Okezie prayed for the will of God to be done in the forthcoming Anambra election while wishing Dr Moghalu success in his political pursuit. He commended the Labour Party flagbearer for towing the line of engaging the rural community and putting people first in their mission.
Moghalu assured Ndi Anambra that if he wins the November 8th elections, His administration will ensure peace, progress, and an equitable distribution of governance dividends to all parts of the state.
In recent weeks, Moghalu extended his campaign trail to Awkuzu, Nteje, Umueri, and Onitsha. At Awkuzu, he paid homage to HRH Igwe Nnamenyi III, who prayed for him and wished him well in his ambition, saying let the will of God be done.
He also addressed supporters at the Awkuzu Civic Centre and interacted with traders at Nkwo Awkuzu Market.
Moghalu to Meet Nnewi Indigenes in Onitsha on Sunday
On his campaign trail, Moghalu is expected to meet with indigenes of the Nnewi community residing in Onitsha on Sunday, September 7th, 2025.
This is a unique opportunity for Ndi Nnewi in Onitsha to engage with Dr. Moghalu, discuss the Recovery Agenda, and chart a new course for Ndi Anambra.
Dr Moghalu is banking on the huge support for the Labour Party due to its affinity with Peter Obi the former governor of the state.
To clinch the number one seat in the state, he has to defeat the incumbent governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the national ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), and John Chuma Nwosu of the new coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
