Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has presented cash prize cheques to the winners of the 2026 Good Governance Jingles Competition, which drew 157 entries and produced 20 winners.
About the Competition
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mainstream Media organised the competition with the Tomorrow Is Here Movement (TIH). It aimed to discover and promote home-grown musical talent and use creative expression to communicate the achievements, vision and development programmes of the Mbah administration, and to mobilise support for his re-election in 2027.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, presented the cheques on the governor’s behalf at the Government House, Enugu. He commended participants for their creativity, originality and commitment, and said the competition was meant to harness the talents of Enugu youths, deepen grassroots engagement and give young people a way to contribute to the state’s development narrative through music. He described the governor as a leader who sees young people and the creative industry as drivers of economic growth and political mobilisation.
“The monies you are given are just a token of our appreciation. It’s symbolic that in a noble state, when people sit down and put their time into creativity, we must always commend them.
“The Governor is proud of all of you. He’s really proud of you. This is the beginning of so many things you’re going to win. It will go beyond just party jingles. It will go to other commercial purposes,” Onyia said.

Hon. Chunwike Ukuta, popularly known as Pincode, won the ₦2 million first prize with Ife Ọma Melụ Na B’anyi.
