Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has received a delegation from the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission in Enugu as part of the commission’s 2026 Nationwide Data Verification Exercise.
Mbah disclosed this in a post on his X page, saying the visit provided an opportunity to discuss the ongoing review of the revenue-sharing formula distributed through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) to states and local governments.
According to the governor, the meeting focused on ensuring fairness in the allocation process and proper representation of Enugu State in national planning and resource distribution.
He noted that the commission’s review is important for achieving equitable revenue sharing across the country. It also ensures that states receive allocations that reflect their realities and needs.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the engagement and reaffirmed the state’s interest. The state is interested in policies and exercises that support accurate data collection, effective planning, and fair resource allocation.
RMAFC Holds Nationwide Exercise
The RMAFC team is currently conducting a nationwide verification exercise. This is to review data used for revenue distribution and fiscal planning across Nigeria. The RMAFC team is on a southeast tour and was currently in Ebonyi state a few days ago.
In Ebonyi, Francis Nwifuru hailed the RMAFC team for their accuracy and diligent discharge of their duties. He added that the effective data collection, which constitutes part of RMAFC deliverables, is essential for accurate FAAC allocations for the state.
At the meeting, Nwifuru made a case for establishing an FG-backed Disaster Fund. This, according to him, will help address environmental disasters without depleting state reserves. He lamented that strong thunderstorms recently unroofed a government building in the state. This resulted in additional expenditure for the Ebonyi State government.
