Item7go, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing fast-food chains, is opening its organic food brand in Owerri, extending its reach into the Southeast.
The brand started small. Founder Ibigbemi Oloruntobi grew it from a roadside operation into a chain with more than 45 outlets, many at major Ibadan junctions. It built its name on filling, affordable food, especially party jollof rice, fried rice and shawarma.
Its expansion has been quick. After more than a decade in Ilorin, Item7go opened its first Ibadan outlet in May 2024, and the city’s response was described as a phenomenon. It then spread to Lagos and Ogun before reaching the Federal Capital Territory. In Abuja, it opened a very large outlet along the Ahmadu Bello Expressway in Mabushi.
The brand also knows how to draw a crowd. When it launched at the University of Lagos on May 12, 2026, students queued in large numbers for free shawarma and rice meals. Customers can order through its mobile app or on Chowdeck.
The Owerri launch brings that formula to a city with a large student population and a lively food scene. The company’s stated mission, to be part of everyone’s everyday life and feed the nation, now has the Imo capital in its sights.
Residents can expect updates on the opening date, address and launch offers from Item7go’s official channels.
