The 11th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting held in Awka agreed to revamp more schools and engage over 8100 teachers in line with Governor Soludo’s manifesto for Anambra Education.
The council affirmed that public schools in the state would now receive a breathe of fresh air following the governor’s recent clearing of inherited counterpart financing arrears up to 2024 and the expected federal government counterpart financing.
Law Mefor, the State’s commissioner for information, explained that the move was to revamp and advance the state of education in the state in line with the Governor’s manifesto.

The initiative underscores Governor Soludo’s revolution in transforming all sectors of the state’s economy”He said. The commissioner explained that the governor has earmarked the construction of some schools as a model structure and the standard for schools in anambra state. Such schools include the Boys Secondary School Uga which is under construction and other distinct examples.
The Governor’s free education policy has been extended to senior secondary school Year 3 (SS3) and the administration has also employed an additional 3,115 teachers taking the tally to over 8,100. He has also upgraded 60 laboratories in the state to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) standard while increasing the operational budget for the primary and secondary schools.
Additionally, the Soludo administration restored electricity to the Uli Campus after 21 years of blackout while ushering in free internet services highlighting the governor’s effort to modernize education in the state.
