The Abia state government has commenced full construction work on the Ekeoha Textile market in Aba, a project earmarked as one of the key investments of the Abia government in commerce.
The massive market structure built for Aba’s famous textile industry is 70% complete and is already accepting investors in its market space. The physical structure of the market complex reflects modern times and a shift away from traditional open-air markets to a more organised market structure.
The Abia state Governor, Alex Otti, officially flagged off the International Textile Market Ekeoha on Thursday, August 8, 2024, marking a new chapter in the state’s textile industry and commerce as a whole.
Rhino Homes and Property manages the commercial property and is responsible for allocating shop spaces to interested buyers.
The International Textile Market Ekeoha Aba is an ultra-modern commercial hub that features over 5,000 well-structured shops, 24/7 electricity supply, high-speed internet connectivity, and an 8-level green car park to accommodate growing traffic in the metropolis.
According to Rhino Homes, the market facility has an 8-level green car park that will be fitted with Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points, an automatic lift, and CCTV cameras. The facility is optimised for comfort, efficiency, and innovation and is poised to redefine market infrastructure in South East Nigeria and Africa.
The textile industry in Aba is world-famous, and for many years, Aba has served as the go-to market alternative for Made in Nigeria clothing and shoes. The manufacturing antics of the Abia state commerce sector earned it a household “Made in Aba ” name, and its reputation has travelled across the shores of the country.
Aba is home to another textile market, which is also in the works. The International Textile and Leather Market, Osisioma Aba, is also managed by Rhino Homes and Properties and is built to serve as a hub for textile/leather manufacturing and trading.
