The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mba, stated that the newly launched Enugu Air would fly the US, UK, and China routes in no distant time, adding to the local routes in the country.
MBA assured ndi Enugu and Nigerians as a whole during his inauguration speech on the new airlines running the foreign routes in no distant time. In addition, Enugu Airlines will also fly the Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Kano, and Anambra routes.
“In the next phase, we will fly beyond Nigeria, into other African countries, China, Europe, UK, US, and other global business hubs,” Mbah said.
“Enugu is home to one of Nigeria’s largest clusters of tertiary institutions. For too long, our graduates dreamed of an aviation career with no clear pathway. That era is over,”
This transportation revolution is creating numerous opportunities: from bus drivers to technicians, logistics workers.” The governor added.
Progressive Ecosystem
Governor Mbah explained that the Enugu Air initiative is part of a broader ecosystem aimed at creating over 20,000 jobs through transportation. He stated that the government aims to revamp the transport sectors in the state while reviving BRT, about 2,000 hybrid city taxis, airport operations, ride-hailing, and support services.

The Enugu Air would be managed by Xejet, a Nigerian homegrown Airline company with strong credibility and an AOC certificate. The airline is to be fully managed by the Private sector.
XeJET
XEJet, a Nigerian premium airline founded in 2015, offers all-business-class flights, focusing on luxury and efficiency. Based at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos, it operates a fleet of 24-seater CRJ200 aircraft. XEJet serves domestic routes, connecting Lagos to Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt.
It launched scheduled services on November 2, 2024, after adding scheduled operations to its Air Operator Certificate in September 2024. The airline also provides charter services, engineering, and maintenance, with plans for a 40,000-square-meter maintenance facility in Abuja. XEJet aims to redefine business travel with personalized, high-end services.
