The Davido 5ive tour, A Nigerian tour from the leading pop artist, made a stop in Enugu on Saturday, pulling 40,000 fans and shutting down the coal city.
The music event cum festival held in Mike Okpara square featured performances from Davido, Jeriq, Cubana Chief Priest, Zoro, Kolaboy, Evado, and other new artists in the southeast east region.
The show started with rehearsals and a mic check at the Mike Okpara Square in the early hours of the day. Security was put in place by the organizers, and the entire stage was set up hours before the event.
Ticket sales followed as the crowd started to pour in towards the evening, as news of Davido being in Enugu spread in the city. Besides the music event, food and refreshment were also present at the venue as food vendors leveraged the large crowd to ply their trade.
Standout performances included Davido, who performed last, thrilling the crowd and feeding off the energy already created by other artists who performed before him. His hit song “With You,” featuring Omah Lay, was the peak of his performance, driving the crowd wild and prompting them to sing along word for word.
Jeriq, the Enugu-based rapper, was another highlight of the event, moving the crowd who recognized him as one of their own. His performance started with a name drop of popular neighborhoods in Enugu, cementing his position as an Enugu and southeastern music icon.

Cubana Chief Priest, the entertainment businessman and hotelier, proved himself to be a man of many hats by joining music artists to perform at the event, too. The night was also blessed with performances from Zoro Swagbag, Kolaboy, Rord Kelly, Brown Joel, Boypee, and fast-rising music artist Evado.
Sponsors and partners for the event include Air Peace, Wema Bank, Chowdeck, Martell, Guinness, and GAC Motors.
The 5ive tour is a Nigerian tour by Davido slated to be held in 5 cities in the country: Uyo, Enugu, Adamawa, Ibadan, and Lagos. The Uyo, Enugu, and Adamawa shows have already been ticked off the list by the artist, with the tour set to peak with the lagos edition on the 25th December.
The success of the 5ive tour in Enugu confirms a growing speculation that the Southeast entertainment scene is finally ready for business, and artists from the region no longer need to leave it to enjoy career success.
