The African Democratic Congress (ADC) pulled a staggering 2000 coalition partners from all top political parties in Nigeria during its extended stakeholders’ meeting in Abakaliki over the weekend.
The Coalition partners stemmed from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party (LP), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP)
The ADC State Chairman, Mrs Jenifer Adibe Nwafor, described the party as the new Bride in Nigerian politics, attracting defectors from all other established parties in the Nigerian Political space. She added that the official launching of the ADC in Abakaliki was a much-needed paradigm shift as the state prepares for the general elections in 2027.
“We are not here for a rally or campaign. This is a serious rescue mission. ADC is not new in Ebonyi or Nigeria — we’ve come to stay.” Nwafor stated.
The meeting was attended by political members from all 13 local government areas in the state. Floor members and coalition partners also participated in the event, which ended with a unanimous vote on the leadership of Adibe Nwafor.
Unified Front
Nwafor stressed the need for unity in the Ebonyi ADC camp, warning against backdoor members and unnecessary factions. She warned that any member who has such intentions should make it known.
Coalition stakeholders, in response to the success of the meeting, described ADC as a coming storm in the Nigerian political landscape. They believed the mega coalition under the umbrella of the ADC has spread fear in the APC camp.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Chuks Obiri, Orji Joseph of the Ohanivo Group Foundation, and Chinenye Ogazi called for serious grassroots mobilisation, structured ward and local government leadership, legal support, and strategic media engagement.
“This is not about money politics. It’s about rebuilding Nigeria”,
The stakeholders urged members to focus on sensitising rural communities, mainly illiterate voters, before the coming general elections in 2027.
