    Abia Governor to Recruit Additional 4000 Teachers

    Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has noted that the state would hire an additional 4000 teachers to help revamp and sustain the standard of education in the country.

    The Governor said this during the June edition of his monthly media chat at the state’s capital. He stated that the new addition would take the number of secondary school teachers in the state to 9,394.

    According to the Governor, the goal is to prepare the schools for the next academic session, given the massive enrollment witnessed since the introduction of free and compulsory education. He also stressed on the ongoing recruitment exercise announcing dates and the process on ground for that.

    “We expect that the portal will be opened and applications will be received. We are also converting 20 schools into smart schools and work is already ongoing,” he said.

    The Governor reminded Ndi Abia that the goal is to ensure that every child regardless of their state of origin has access to Education up to Junior Secondary. He touched on some of the government’s exploit in the health sector and other important area’s in the state.

    Governor Alex Otti’s adminstration has been marked with remarkable intitatives aimed and turning the fortunes of the state around.

    The Geometric power plant launched by Mr Peter Obi and Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is one of such High effort projects his administration has come to be known for.
