Abia State First Lady, Priscilla Otti, has decorated her police orderly, Chinemerem Eke, following her promotion to the rank of Corporal in the Nigeria Police Force.
The First Lady disclosed this in a post on her X page, describing the promotion as a proud and well-deserved achievement.
According to her, the decoration ceremony was attended by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, who joined in celebrating the milestone.
She said the decoration was carried out alongside the Governor’s Chief Security Officer, Ken Nwosu.
Priscilla Otti noted that Corporal Eke had served with dedication, discipline, and commitment, adding that the promotion reflected her hard work and service in the police force.
She congratulated the officer on her elevation and wished her greater success, wisdom, and protection as she continues serving the nation.
The office of the first lady in Nigeria is not functional, but it is quite active, serving mostly as a women’s welfare unit. The first lady in every state, or the first lady of the country, uses her position to advance the cause of women through empowerment programs, welfare initiatives, and social outreach.
Last Month, Otti handed over 35 houses to widows in the state under a housing initiative launched by her office. She also uses the office to promote made-in-Aba products. Last Year, she rocked the famous Akwete fabric to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Her husband, Governor Alex Otti, is running for reelection in 2027 and remains the favourite to win the gubernatorial race.
