Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo paid the mandatory N50 million permit fee to the Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency, ANSAA, ahead of the November 8 elections.
The ANSAA permit fee is mandatory for all contesting candidates and covers all forms of outdoor advertising and political rallies during the campaign season. The Soludo camp paid the ANSAA fee through the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu. The payment was made via a bank draft brought to the ANSAA office in Awka by Obiogbolu.
Managing Director of ANSAA, Tony Ujubuonu, thanked the special adviser and the Soludo camp for adhering to the state’s law on political campaigns.
“This political campaign permit empowers APGA to begin deploying campaign materials and promotional activities across Anambra State, including posters, branded vehicles, public address systems, banners, fliers, and T-shirts used in street storms, rallies, and more in all 21 local government areas of Anambra State.
“This development reflects APGA’s preparedness to conduct a responsible and impactful campaign, fully aligned with ANSAA’s guidelines and signage standards.
Governor Soludo joins Paul Chukwuma of Young Progressives Party (YPP), George Moghalu of Labour Party, Jeff Nweke of Action Alliance (AA), and John Nwosu of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the list of candidates who have paid the fee. The remaining 12 political parties have yet to pay with the elections roughly three months away.
ANSAA permit covers Outdoor advertising, including all billboards, posters, branded vehicles, and public rallies to be used by the parties. ANSAA is set to rake in N800 million should all political parties pay the fee.
