The Ebonyi state governor, Francis Nwifuru, has presented a 2026 budget to the Ebonyi state House of Assembly as the adminstration prepares for the 2026 financial year.
The budget themed ” Budget of Actualisation and Hope” is valued at N884,868,327,429.94 and is aligned to the People’s Charter of Needs manifesto floated by the Nwifuru administration.
Speaking to the House of Assembly, Nwifuru described the budget as the financial structure to consolidate the gains made by his administration and accelerate development. The state governor described the budget as a roadmap for industrialisation, job creation, human capital growth, and sustainable prosperity.
The budget features the Capital Development Fund (CDF) values at N332.03 billion, a 118% increase from 2025, and a 65% increase in the total budget from 2025

Nwifuru also used the opportunity to reflect on the administrative journey of his cabinet and their silent achievements in various sectors of the state.
“Together, we have restored dignity to our pensioners, empowered thousands of young people and entrepreneurs, transformed our schools, expanded access to healthcare, revived agriculture, strengthened security, rebuilt infrastructure, and reignited industrial growth across the state,” Nwifuru stated.
He thanked the House of Assembly for a smooth process while hailing the synergy between the various arms of government in the state.
” I remain deeply grateful to the House of Assembly for the great synergy between the different arms of government. To every Ebonyian whose trust continues to guide our steps, I reaffirm my vow that as long as I remain your Governor, I will never betray your trust.” Nwifuru said.
In other news, the Nwifuru administration made public its plans to revive the Ebonyi state-owned Cement factory, Nigercem, as one of its flagship projects. Early this year, Nwifuru set up a task committee for the moribund state-owned cement industry and tasked it with coming up with a workable plan to revive the asset.
