The NAFEST event, touted as Nigeria’s cultural Olympics makes a comeback to Enugu State since it hosted the event back in 2008. NAFEST is organised by the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation.
Events lined up for NAFEST 2025 include
- The Singoff event
- The Danceoff event
- The Swag Show
- Dambe Boxing
- Traditional Wrestling

- Esports
- Film Festival
- Children’s Quiz, Essay, and Art Competition

Enugu’s governor, Peter Mbah, received the Symbolic NAFEST gong, hailing it as a symbol of cultural renaissance as Enugu looks to showcase the rich Igbo heritage this year alongside the celebration of other cultures.
NCAC Director-General Obi Asika praised Enugu’s readiness, with Minister Hannatu Musawa eager to heap accolades on the southeastern state. NAFEST is an important component of nation-building as it celebrates Nigeria’s multi ethnic nature and heritage, focusing on shared values and cultural similarities rather than differences.
