The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has fixed a three-day Complaint Resolution Exercise in the Abakaliki and Afikpo districts of Ebonyi State.
The development was disclosed by Group Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, during a chat with newsmen in Abakaliki. The company hopes to resolve pending billing-related issues with its customers in the state.
Ezeh stated that the complaint resolution event will be held in three different locations in the district from Tuesday, 22nd July to Thursday, 24th July 2025, between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm.
He urged citizens of the state to bring forth their complaints and take full advantage of the exercise.
Exercise Schedule and Venue
Day 1 of the exercise – Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 – will take off by 10 am, at EEDC Old Office (beside the Ebonyi State Ministry of Finance), Abakaliki.
Day 2 of the exercise – Wednesday, 23rd July 2025 – will be held by 10 am, at the EEDC GRA Service Center (opposite Democracy Estate), Abakaliki, while Day 3 – Thursday, 24th July 2025 – will take place by 10 am, at the EEDC Afikpo Service Center, Amachi Road, Afikpo.
Ezeh reiterated that customers are expected to come along with their recent electricity bills, receipts, or proof of payments, and any other required documents to support their case.
He added that the Complaint Resolution Exercise was strictly set aside for billing issues, and customers with other complaints should access the Customer Service Units at the District Offices and Service Centers.
The EEDC distributes electricity across Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi states. The company was established under the 2005 Electricity Reform Act. EEDC invests in major regional infrastructure, like substations in Awka and a 33kV line in Imo, to improve power supply.
However, EEDC faces criticism for outages and overbilling, with its Enugu operations now transferred to Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited.
