Enugu Air has secured regulatory approval to start direct flights from Lagos to London Gatwick in December 2026, and bookings are already open on its online portal.
According to the airline’s statement, the service will be operated in partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation, which has been designated as the operating partner for the route.
Reports say Omni-Blu has been granted flight rights to begin scheduled operations on December 1, 2026, with four weekly frequencies. That would make it the second Nigerian carrier flying to London under the Nigeria–UK Bilateral Air Services Agreement.
A Fast International Push
The announcement comes barely six weeks after Enugu Air’s maiden international flight to Douala, Cameroon, on September 23. The airline says the London route will improve travel options, strengthen business and trade ties, and boost air connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Background
Enugu Air was launched in July 2025 with an initial fleet of three Embraer aircraft, the E170 and E190 series. It received its own air operator’s certificate on March 10, 2026, and Governor Mbah has said the state plans to expand the fleet to as many as 20 aircraft by the end of 2026.
The airline is part of Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of making Enugu a major regional aviation hub. Its statement credits his leadership and aviation agenda for positioning Enugu as an emerging gateway for international connectivity, investment, tourism and economic growth
