The Block Hive officially launched on June 30 last week, marking the opening of a new co-working, event, and content creation hub designed to support entrepreneurs, startups, students, creators, and community builders across Nsukka and beyond.

In attendance were Ransom Eze, Growth Lead at OG Labs; Onyilimba David from Play2Learn; Alikwe Ortega from TechPoint; Prof Alon Razgour; Godson Njoku of GDG; Nduka Annaelechukwu, Co-Founder, BlockchainUNN; Ugochukwu Dike from DRIPS; and other members of the innovation ecosystem.
The event featured an evening of networking, facility tours, and conversations around the future of entrepreneurship and collaboration in the region.
The Blockhive Launch began with the Priest’s blessing of the facility, and the guests were given a guided tour of the newly opened facility by the founder. He explored its co-working spaces, board meeting rooms, event halls, podcast studio, dedicated content studio & the penthouse housing the Co-Living/Residency Apartments.
The facility launching event also showcased how organizations can host professional workshops, conferences, training, and community events without the burden of coordinating multiple vendors for sound, presentations, internet connectivity, and media production.
Speaking during the launch, Kevin Chibuoyim, Founder of The Block Hive, shared the vision behind the space and how inspiration for it came to him after he went to DevCon in Argentina & he came back with a vision to create an ecosystem where people can work, build businesses, create content, host impactful events, and connect with like-minded innovators under one roof.
The Blockhive Opens to the Nsukka Student Community
The facility is located directly opposite the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Main Gate. The Block Hive Location is strategically positioned to serve one of Nigeria’s largest student populations, as well as the town’s growing entrepreneurial and technology communities.
The facility features two event spaces with capacities ranging from 30 to 120 guests, professional audio systems, presentation screens, high-speed internet, a private boardroom, and an in-house content studio.
The launch event reflected the growing demand for modern collaborative spaces outside Nigeria’s major commercial cities. Attendees described the opening as a timely addition to Nsukka’s innovation landscape, providing startups, student organizations, businesses, and community groups with access to infrastructure that was previously difficult to find in the town.
The Block Hive also announced its commitment to supporting local communities through partnership opportunities and discounted packages for organizations actively driving technology, education, and ecosystem Development.
As the doors officially open on Wednesday, July 8, Block Hive is positioning itself as more than a venue. It aims to become a central hub where ideas are developed, businesses are launched, partnerships are formed, and communities come together to learn, create, and grow.
