The Blockhive contributes to the growing startup economy in Enugu, which has also hosted key tech events, including the Enugu Tech Festival and ETH Enugu Experience. It is also an indication of the shift toward a global ecosystem built on remote gigs and technology-driven solutions. The Blockhive Project is spearheaded by Kevin Chibuoyim, who is an active tech entrepreneur and ecosystem leader in the Southeast.
The Enugu State government, on its own, is tilting towards Technology and has entered a couple of partnerships with foreign entities.
The Haier factory by China’s Haier Group is one such example. It powers tech manufacturing in the state previously known for Coal exploration and the capital of the old eastern region.
