Anambra State Government has trained and graduated 300 robotics engineers and 100 internet service provider (ISP) network engineers as part of its ongoing digital development programme.
The initiative aims to build local tech skills and expand the state’s digital economy.
The programme also includes support for innovation, with the government providing funding to 80 startups, helping young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into full-fledged businesses.
Governor Charles Soludo said the effort is part of his administration’s plan to prepare the state for a technology-driven future and create jobs for young people.
He noted that the focus is on practical skills that can compete globally and reduce unemployment.
The training and startup funding were delivered across Anambra State, with participants drawn from various local government areas.
Beneficiaries were selected and trained in areas such as robotics, network engineering, and digital innovation.
The Solution Innovation District Initiative

The training is an extension of the greater Solution Innovation District (SID) project by the Soludo Administration. The SID is a physical space built to house all the digital and technological innovations in Anambra state. The facility is a mecca for founders and startups in the state. It also serves as a melting pot where innovative startups find government support.
The SID is also a hub for foreign partnerships between innovative startups in the state and interested foreign parties. In March, the Chief Executive Officer of Unicloud Africa Limited, Dr. Krishnan Ranganath, visited the SID in Awka.
He received a guided tour from the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms. Chinwe Okoli.
Ranganath, in the company of Mr. Ifeanyi Adirika – CEO of Connekt Broadband, the Honourable Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, Stephanie Linus, Mr. Linus Idahosa, and others, toured the SID permanent site to get a firsthand feel of the new complex.
The SID is also aesthetically designed to espouse modern innovation. This is befitting of an innovation hub in the capital city of Anambra state.
