Governor Alex Otti has assured residents of Abia State that bigger developments are on the way, saying his administration is only beginning the main phase of its work.
Speaking on the progress of his government, Otti said the projects and reforms carried out so far were mainly aimed at laying a solid foundation for future growth across the state.
The governor explained that his administration inherited poor road networks, damaged infrastructure and a state facing serious challenges. He said the government also had to deal with unpaid salaries, pensions and allowances, as well as outstanding debts owed to teachers and healthcare workers.
According to him, addressing those issues was necessary before embarking on larger development projects. He expressed confidence that residents would soon witness faster progress and major improvements in different sectors of the state.
Otti also provided an update on the Abia State Airport project, stating that work is progressing and that the facility will soon become operational.
The governor said the airport project is moving forward as planned and assured residents that the day is near when people will be able to travel in and out of Abia through the new airport.
He maintained that his administration remains committed to improving infrastructure, boosting economic activities and delivering projects that will benefit residents across the state.
The highlights of Otti’s Tenure so far is his strong contribution to Abia’s road infrastructure, Huge investments in Power, Foreign partnerships and an overall facelift for Abia state’s image in the country.
He is seeking reelection in 2027 under the Labour Party, and he remains the highest-ranking officeholder in the party after Peter Obi’s departure to the African Democratic Congress.
