DSTV, the flagship cable Television product of Multichoice Limited, is a pay-to-watch cable TV experience bringing all manner of entertainment, news, movies, and educational content to its millions of subscribers.

DSTV has dominated Nigeria’s cable TV market for decades, pioneering the market and introducing Nigerians to a range of TV programs that enriched their lives.

Supersports, which broadcasts live Premier League and La Liga football matches, is one of the DSTV franchise’s strongest selling points. Supersports onboarded millions of football lovers in Nigeria to the Premier League, and for many years, was solely responsible for the acquisition of DSTV dishes by many Nigerians.

Another notable mention is the African Magic Channel, which airs premium Nollywood content to movie lovers in Nigeria. Africa Magic, which represents the three major tribes in Nigeria: African Magic Igbo, African Magic Yoruba, and African Magic Hausa, with additional verticals such as African Magic Epic and ROK Studios.

Other major drivers of DSTV adoption in Nigeria include local and foreign news channels such as ARISE TV, CNN, Channels TV, and BBC.

Despite declining subscriber rates in Nigeria due to a fall in Nigerians’ purchasing power, DSTV remains the main cable TV provider in the most populous country in Africa.

DSTV offers six major subscription plans to its millions of subscribers. The pricier the plan, the more channels are made available to the user.
