A Government Panel set up by the Abia government to probe the suspension of the Provost of the College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, has submitted its report and findings.
The Provost, Professor Vincent Onwe, was suspended by the state government in April 2025 while a panel was set up to probe the development. The head of the Independent Committee, Professor Regina Ogbonna, submitted the report to the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, stating the modalities and time frame of the probe by the panel.
The report was received by the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, represented by the Abia State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechuckwu Uwanna. The State secretary described the probe as a delicate task that had to be done to straighten out the development at the educational institution.

He added that from the moment of the panel’s inception, it was clear that the task required intellect, integrity, due process, and high capacity to achieve the desired results.
The Professor commended the committee for approaching the task with a deep sense of professionalism, commitment, and attention to the truth, urging them that their report would be used by the government in its fact-finding mission.
