The Year 2025 is coming to an end, and the Southeast is expecting a series of hype events to light up its cities as the much-awaited December month draws near.
The Southeast, once an entertainment shy region dominated by sleazy beer parlours and an almost non-existent nightlife, is turning for the better and is fast becoming a hub for events, carnivals, and parties catering to the youthful and fun-loving people in the region.
Enugu, Awka, and Owerri make up the bulk of the host cities for these events and parties due to the high population of young people in the cities.
As the year draws to a close, event organizers have compiled a list of events in the south east taking place over the last three months of the year. They include
Abacha Festival
A food event catering to the local Igbo cuisine. The event is slated to be held in Enugu a state quite famous for mouth-watering dishes.
Southeast Food and Fashion Festival
The Southeast Food and Fashion festival is a dual-focused event that celebrates Igbo local cuisine and its blossoming fashion industry. The fashion industry in the Southeast is on the rise, with Aba spearheading the charge. The event celebrates this in addition to the local cuisine of the Igbo people.
Okpa Festival
Another food-focused festival bringing food lovers and enthusiasts together in the region.
Jeriqhood
An annual music festival hosted by Southeast and Enugu raised rapper Jeriq. Jeriq is one of the biggest acts out of the southeast, and his events usually have massive turnouts. Bangers like “My Bro” and “Apology” announce Jeriq as the next big thing in the Southeast music scene.
Davido Concert (Five Tour )
World-famous pop artist Davido is touring Nigeria and is slated to be in Enugu in November. This has the potential to be one of the biggest shows in the East this year, as attendees are expected to come from all over the Southeast region for the show. Davido’s concerts are usually packed with energy as the artist has a long catalogue of hits to thrill fans. The Five tour promises to be a hit, and it’s a must-attend for fun lovers.
Kolaboy Concert
Kolaboy, a promising act from the southeast, is hosting a music concert to celebrate the end of the year. Coming from his new hit single “Obaago,” Kolaboy,, who has carved a niche as a through-bred Southeastern act,, is looking to thrill fans with this one
Phynofest
Phynofest is an annual end-of-the-year event celebrating Igbo hip-hop and alternative music. Phyno, a southeast music act and rapper, headlines the event, and it is credited as one of the first major southeast musical events. The turnout is usually massive, and Enugu has been the choice location for these events.
