The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. George Moghalu, met with the Nzukora Nnewi on Sunday, rallying support from his fellow Nnewi indigenes ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
The leadership of the Nzukora Nnewi hailed the candidate for his commitment, courage, and consistency. Additionally, they openly acknowledged his benevolence during his time as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), where he facilitated federal jobs for youths in the state.
The town union described the Labour Party flagbearer as a true son of Nnewi who has always remembered his roots and has a stellar track record.

Speaking to the crowd, Moghalu reminded the Nzukora Nnewi of his time as the NIWA chairman and how he facilitated jobs for the youth in the state at the Agency and other federal government parastatals.
He stated that his past performance is a sure guarantee of what he will do in the future if he is elected governor.
“Everywhere I go, Nnewi is in my heart, and Anambra is my focus. I am here to ask you to place your confidence in me. Give me this opportunity, I will not let you down, I will not fail Nnewi, and I will not disappoint Anambra State,” he said.
Defining Moment
Speaking further, Moghalu described the November 8 elections as a defining moment for both Nnewi and Anambra State. He reminded them that one of their own is in the race and urged them to stand firmly with him as he seeks the highest office in the state.
The Town hall meeting was attended by Prince Jude Osumuoh, President of Nzukora Nnewi.
Also in attendance was Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike, Member representing Nnewi North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, alongside other stakeholders and community leaders.
