Registration for the second batch of applicants for the Abia state-sponsored Abia Leadership Academy is ongoing following the closure of registration for the first batch on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The first batch registered about 2000 applicants as youths in the state vie for slots in the program. Registration for the second batch is still open and will close on August 11, 2025. Abia residents between the ages of 16 and 20 are encouraged to apply for a chance to be mentored in the program personally set up by Governor Alex Otti.
Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a brief interview are slated to be held today, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at a designated digital centre in Umuahia. Applicants would be quizzed on age-specific questions within their knowledge range.
The training proper would be residential in a facility set aside to house and incubate 1000 applicants. The program will continue until the first week of September, with 250 applicants entering for a 7-day residency. Program deliverables include mentally stimulating exercises, physical exercises, Group discussions, and assignments.
At the end of the program, a grand graduation will be put together for the applicants, hosted by the executive Governor of the state. Certificates will be awarded to all participants of the program, and prizes will be awarded to outstanding performers.
The Abia Leadership Academy, after the programme, will set up a community of achievers, thinkers, and visionaries to participate and partner in government enterprise projects. The Academy, therefore, remains a continuous project to unite the brightest minds in the state towards one goal and purpose.
Parents, Guardians, Teachers, and community leaders are encouraged to register their wards for the program, which presents a life-changing opportunity to youths in Abia State.
