Automobile Entrepreneur and the CEO of Coscharis Motors, Cosmas Maduka, stated that Nigerian politicians don’t patronise his business because he refuses to inflate the invoice and launder money through car sales from his company.

Maduka revealed this during a guest appearance on the Selah Meditate podcast, where he discussed his business ethics, entrepreneurial journey, and a host of other things.

” Let me share the most recent one, not a current sitting governor, but a previous one who wanted us to supply vehicles, and we deliver vehicles, and they wanted me to inflate vehicles of N40 million to write N80 million, and I told them I don’t do it.

I said I am sorry, I don’t do it. I said if you don’t do it, we don’t have business. I said Okay, good luck and I left,” Maduka said.

Somebody else had to buy those cars, and inflated the invoice; he bought them from us and paid us at our invoice. I cannot launder money for you,” he added.

Maduka further narrated his ordeal as a businessman in his struggling phase and how he maintained his strict business ethics despite his harsh financial situation at that moment. He was once seen preaching the word of God on the streets of Lagos, a strong indicator of his moral reputation, which drives his business ethics.

Dr Cosmas Maduka is an Nnewi-born businessman and the founder of Coscharis Group, a conglomerate valued at $800 million. He started his business life as an apprentice after dropping out of school following the death of his father at age four.

Coscharis Motors deals in BMW, Ford, and Jaguar, while the agriculture arm of the conglomerate produces Coscharis Rice at Anaku in Anambra state.

Maduka was awarded the Commander of the Order of the Niger in 2012 in recognition of his contribution to the Nigerian economy through his business.
