The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, wished the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, a Happy Birthday as the latter celebrated his 65th birthday yesterday.
Obi took to X to share his Birthday message to the Anambra Governor, calling him an elder brother.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and a member of APGA, is currently at loggerheads with Souldo over power dynamics in the state. The Duo often exchange heated subliminal messages over issues bordering on Anambra Development and Politics.
Obi, who started his Political career as a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the same party that floated Soludo, is regarded as the ruling party in the state.
Obi left APGA for the PDP in his quest for National relevance. He is currently in the Labour Party after failing to clinch the PDP’s presidential ticket in 2023.
Obi’s quest for the presidency meant he had to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition with other political titans in the country. Other coalition members include Atiku Abubakar, former vice president, Nasir El Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, and Rauf Aregbesola. The party’s National Chairman is Senator David Mark from Benue State.
Peter Obi and Governor Charles Soludo share a complex relationship marked by past friendship and political rivalry.
Despite calling each other “brothers,” tensions arose over Obi’s 2023 presidential bid, with Soludo questioning his investments and electoral chances. Obi congratulated Soludo on his 2025 birthday, but Soludo did not reciprocate.
